Teacher found killed in tube well room, suspect booked

The body of a physical education teacher was found hanging at a tube well room near Focal Point, Tanda, last night. His hands were tied behind his back.
Gurchetan Singh,
deceased’s father, has alleged that a man, who had earlier mediated his
son’s marriage, had murdered him. The Tanda police have booked Pola,
the mediator, on the murder charge.
The deceased’s father said his son, Arvinder Singh, was a physical education teacher at Kendriya Vidyalaya at the Air Force Station, Adampur, and his marriage was proposed for March 23. He had left home yesterday morning to buy some items for his marriage, but did not return. People of his villagers started a search and found his bike near the tube well room of Harminder Singh near Focal Point, Tanda. They found his body in the tubewell room.
His father alleged that Pola of Saggran village in Jalandhar district had been threatening Arvind ever after his refusal to the marriage proposal. Pola has been booked for murder under the Indian Penal Code.
